Privacy policy

What this portal collects, why, who can see it, how long it is kept, and how to reach us about it.

Who is responsible

Jaipur Municipal Corporation (Nagar Nigam Jaipur) runs this portal for the Khushiyon Wali Diwali competition and decides how your information is used.

What is collected

  • Your name, mobile number, email address, address, landmark, ward and zone; for a shop, institution or market, its name.
  • The photographs you submit, with the time our server received them.
  • For photographs taken with the portal camera, the location your device reports and its accuracy. Photographs chosen from the gallery (wards and markets) carry no location.
  • Your IP address and browser identification, recorded against sign-ins and other significant actions, for security.

Why

Only to run this competition: to check that an entry is genuine, to let the jury judge it, to send you login codes and an entry receipt, and to contact winners. You give this consent on the entry form. Using your photographs for the Corporation's Diwali publicity is a separate, optional choice on the same form; you can enter without it.

Who can see it

  • You, and the Corporation's administrators who run the competition.
  • The jury, from the moment you submit: they see your photographs, the competition, your ward and the approximate location (to about 100 metres) of camera photographs, but not your name, mobile number, email or address. Jurors are not shown entries from their own ward.
  • Everyone, once results are announced: the results page shows each winner's name (or ward), ward and competition. Mobile numbers, emails and addresses are never published.
  • Sign-in codes and your entry reference are emailed by the portal's own mail server; your email provider delivers them to your inbox. The hosting provider that runs the portal's server holds the data on the Corporation's behalf. The site also loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address.

Nothing is sold or shared for advertising. Photographs are stored privately and cannot be reached by guessing a web address.

How long it is kept

  • Entries and photographs that do not win, and entrants' accounts left with no entries: deleted within six months of the results being announced.
  • Winners' entries: kept for as long as the Corporation's record-keeping rules for prizes require.
  • Login codes: deleted after 7 days. Security records (sign-ins and significant actions): kept for one year.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information held about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent before the results withdraws your entry; withdrawing publicity consent only stops publicity use. You may also name someone to act for you. Write to the contact below; we aim to reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Contact details will be published here before entries open.

How it is protected

The portal is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Each role sees only what its work needs, photographs are stored outside the public website, and significant actions are recorded so they can be checked later.
